Hi Guys,

I have finally found the problem my XFX 8800GTS XXX version was definetly faulty from factory. So the retail store is telling me now that they will give me credit instead of refund so I have to spend on different graphic card basically.

But the funny think apparently XFX is not any more producing 640MB series of GTS 's thats why they have given me credit.

The problem is since I can't get 640MB gts the choices are limited I have either go to 320MB GTS or pay for $180 and go to the 8800GTX Asus.

At this point my mind is jamned,

Do you guys know why; Because, if I go to 320MB the price for 320MB GTS is $575 so I have to spend the rest of the money which is about $200 on somethink that I dont need because I have everything on this pc....

So I am between 320MB GTS and 768MB GTX where should I go I have no clue if I go to GTX I have to pay $180

Is it worth going to the GTX or should I stick with GTS's since with 320MB?

What would you guys do if you were in my position...?

Please show me the way guys I am definetly stack.

GTS 320MB or 768 GTX ?????

Thanks.

Dude if your a hardcore gamer then go for 8800 gtx. if not then your fine with 8800 gts 320 mb if you play games till 1600x1200 resolution. and kick that guy in the nuts who is selling you 8800 gts 320mb for 500+ dollers. I got my EVGA super clocked 8800 gts 320Mb for 279$

Have to agree

the 320Mb model will do just fine.
Can really tell about the future but there will offcourse be games that use more then 320 and then u will feel the slowdowns.

Also as they CANT offer the same product then demand the money back in between (you got the right) if not then demand a new 640 (as thay cant give u) then u can demand ALL your money back and bye a 640 online instead...

Is that canadian dollars your talking about? if not they are sqrewing you the wrong way big time ...

Sorry Guys,

I should have mention the prices that I gave you guys Australian Dollars.

So in that sense $575 = $446 USD 320MB GTS ASUS

And the GTX: $960 AUD = $745USD 768MB Asus GTX

So these are the price comparisations....

Hopefully this will make clear everything but I do get the idea now if I will benefit from GTX than I will go to the GTX since I am playing games like Ghost recon , 1280X1024 = 75hz because my 19" LCD (931BF Samsung) only supports upto this resoulution but later on i want to get bigger LCD maybe 8800GTX will show the real face later on...

The other option was for me to go to the 320MB overclocked XFX card and get a sound card with the rest of the money like Creative X-Fi Platinum . This was an idea for me since I dont have anything else need on my system.

Is it worth going this way which is soundcard + 320MB XFX XXX overclocked 8800GTS or should I stick to 8800GTX. This was a hard option... I mean since P5B deluxe has a 7.1 built in sound card I dont know...

I guess you guys can help me ???

Thanks for the all of the advices I am really appreciated for this Guys.

Thanks,

Well since the prices they sold you the video card are over priced to begin with... then who knows. I bought my BFG 8800GTS )C 640MB for $09US and got a $30 mail in rebate. Which brought the price down to $379US. But back to your issue. I checked on XFX's website and they should not have a problem repairing or replcing your card under warranty. And I checked again on thier site and they have not discontinued prodution of thier 640MB cards: http://www.xfxforce.com/web/product/listConfigurations.jspa?series=GeForce%26trade%3B+8800&seriesId=730995

So you might want to contact them about getting this taken care of.
