Question 8GB and 4GB

Is it possible to have a DDR4 8GB RAM stick and a DDR4 4GB RAM stick? combined 12GB RAM.

Yes and that's what I have inside my laptop.

Yes , if they will run together is another story. Not guaranteed.
And it will run slightly slower , not being in Dual Channel mode.
