Hey guys, I'm having quite a problem here. I recently had a Geforce4 Ti4200 on my AN7 board and had no problem booting into windows, however, I went to change out the video card with a 9600 Pro and I'm having some trouble here.

When going into the BIOS with the 9600 Pro installed, there's no problem, the thing will even boot into safe mode, BUT when I go into windows normally the green monitor light starts blinking and all I get is a black screen! I said, Ok then I guess I'll format and reinstall. So I go to do that and when i'm installing windows at the part where it does its usual VGA driver installation, the monitor goes back to black and blinks the green light again and refuses to go back to the windows installation screen. I know the installation is continuing because the hard drive light keeps going, but the display just stays black! Now I know this is not a bad video card because my roommate just so happens to have a 9600 Pro in his system too. We switched video cards out and it does the same thing! Does anybody have a clue as to what I should do? Any help is appreciated!

most definitely, the drive is formatted, I did a quick format, that MIGHT be it! Maybe I need to do a full format?

No other suggestions? I'm thinking about trying to install Windows 2000 and see if that fixes it.

It sounds like your monitor is getting an invalid refresh rate, try using a different monitor for a few minutes, if that works go into advanced display settings and set the refresh rate manually.
