9600gt. UNDERCLOCK?

looking to upgrade from my 7300le, i opted for a 9600gt. this was after a bit of research that suggested it only needed 61w. hmmm. after a bit more research it appears that it may need a tad more. looking on the nvidia site, they suggest 96w and 59w (the latter presumable the eco/green type) i believe i've bought an eco type as the core clock is showing as 600mhz. if it is not, can i simply underclock the card for the same power consumption?

305w psu

Just try it, your 305 watt PSU is good quality so I give it a fair change running the card with out problems.

The rest of your system shouldn't use too much power. The 3600X2 is rather miserly which is why it can be overclocked quite a bit. If you really want to change the clocks though just download riva tuner.

You know they sell underclocked 9600GTs and 9800GTs right? They are the ones that are marketed as "power saving" or "green edition." These models don't require the 6-pin.
