Budget Range: £2,000-£2,500 GBP

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Games, watching movies, internet

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Parts to Upgrade: Complete system

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Whatever is legit

Location: England, UK

Parts Preferences: Asus or whatever is known as good for that part

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 2560x1440

Additional Comments: Good cooling, not fussed about noise really, don't care about RGB & the whole thing doesn't have to colour match/look good; would rather have performance & stability. Don't need any mouse or keyboard parts. Not going to be doing ultra competitive pvp stuff.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Currently on a 2016 build running 6700k & 1070 gtx

Parts already ordered:
Mobo: Asus ROG STRIX X870-F GAMING WIFI (Socket AM5) DDR5 ATX Motherboard
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9x00X3D
CPU cooler: Cooler Master MasterLiquid PL360 Flux White All In One CPU Cooler - 360mm
Ram : G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo EXPO RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C30 6000MHz Dual Channel Kit

Parts:
M2 HDD: WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB NVMe / Samsung 990 PRO Heatsink NVMe / Crucial T705 2TB SSD PCIe Gen5 NVMe (There's the gen 5 T705 or gen 4 sn850x or 990 pro, not sure if the gen 5 is worth it at double price for double speeds)
Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic
GFX card: RTX 4080 OR 5080? Don't need the flagship model. Not sure AMD is worth it on gfx card front.
GFX card bracket - ???
PSU: CORSAIR RM850x 850w ATX Power Supply Unit
Fans: 120mm x6/7? (AIO would have 3, was thinking to do 1 on back as exhaust, 3 in front intake, 3 in the bottom intake & the aio as exhaust on the roof. Is it better to have aio on roof as exhaust or front as intake & do you want more air going into the case or being removed, negative pressure or something?)
OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 64-Bit
Monitor: 27 or 32 inch (currently using an aoc g2460pg 24inch TN panel type, can't stand the bad viewing angle issues. Unsure of what type to get, hear ppl say oled but IPS if that's too much so not really sure.)

Just looking for something solid that's not a bottleneck, has good cooling & future proofed somewhat.

I can add to this if necessary, like I said I'm using a 2016 build atm so some of my understanding is outdated or unaware of tech advances most likely.

Thanks for the time.

You might give the gpu a few days. They are supposed to be coming out with new nvidia gpus. But I saw something that AMD is supposedly revealing their cards on the 15th. Don’t ask me how accurate, but I saw one supposed leak suggesting the rx 9070 is comparable to an rtx 4080 super. The 9070 xt should be a step above. Though amd has said they aren’t competing on the higher end so who knows.

Personally I’ve been using amd cards the last few years and they traditionally have been behind on tech like ray tracing and upscaling, but the rumors are that’s what they are working on this generation. I’ve got a 7900xtx and had an rx 6800xt before that, and a few others and I’ve been happy with their cards. My 7900xtx is a beast though. It can run the new Indiana Jones game at over 100fps at full settings except ray tracing but without upscaling. Personally i think the last few years they have been a better price to performance. So with the new announcements from nvidia it’s going to be very interesting what amd comes up with. Hopefully they come out swinging with price to performance.
