A better GPU then a 260

Hi all, I was wondering how much in fps a 275 or 285 would give over a GTX 260 (not a GTX 260/216) i can play crysis at 1680X1050 on high no AA @ about 23 to 40 fps on the 260, Would i get more stable bottom end fps like 40 to 50 with a 275 ? I also have a xfire mobo if you guys think of a ATI card that would be = to a 275 or 285 Thanks niklas

Hey if u go to an 275 u will see only a small increase in performance, but the 285 will be like going from night to day. EVGA 285 would be my next card!!!!!!

Why don't you OC your CPU to 3.8 Ghz and check your framerates? It might go past 40 fps...

thanks for the info on the 275 i will look into the 285

Why not OC my CPU hmm i dont know much about it and from past trys on other systems it just locks up the PC

to the OP just because your mobo can suport xfire dont meen i have to use only ati

Right....

Anyway a 4890 will match a GTX 275 give or take a bit, and the atomic edition of the 4890 ( 1GHz clock on the core) will beat out a GTX 285 for much less.

thanks for the info all i will look into both cards the GTX285 and the 4890 Atomic. Also do you think thos card would bottle neck my cpu ?
