hello friends, i´m thinking of buying an a64 , i´ve chosen a64 3000+, but i have terrible doubts with the mobo. i only have these posibilities:

PLACA K8 ABIT KV8PRO
PLACA K8 AOPEN AK89MAX NFORCE 3
PLACA K8 GIGABYTE K8NS PRO NFORCE 3
PLACA K8 ASUS K8V DELUXE KT800
PLACA K8 GIGABYTE K8VT800
PLACA K8 MSI KT8-NEO-FSR
PLACA K8 SOLTEK SL-K8AV2 KT800

which one would you choose and why. obviously i want the mobo to have SATA, RAID,HYPERTHREADING, and all these things.please, be objective.

First of all, AMD Systems don't have Hyperthreading, so you won't get it with ANY of those boards.

Of those boards, I'd probably go with the Gigabyte Nforce3 Board, because the Nforce3 chipset is better than the VIA one, and of the two nforce3 boards you list, I prefer Gigabyte over Aopen.

Why are you limited to those specific boards?

Sapphire 9800Pro @412/740

Go for 2400+. The performance increase (better chipset + overclocking) is not enough to justify the cost of new mobo.
