That's the only proper review done on any of the models in that series. Several very knowledgeable people have stated it's a good design and a good budget PSU.
Gabe's list of quality reviewers may be a little bit generous and it's 3 years old, but it's not too far off.
I and many others have recommended those Green Series PSUs for years now. I'm certain they are just as good as the Corsair line.
It's entirely possible to predict the performance of lower wattage units based on the performance of higher wattage units, when they are the same design from the same OEM.
Would I recommend the 700W version? NO I would not. I have no way of knowing if that platform can handle that amount of power.
The idea wasn't to list every good PSU here Just the most recommended ones.
I'll be happy to plug in any additions that are properly formatted, providing they are popular recommendations and I like them. I will be doing an update on this in about 3 days.
I added new models and several new brands. I also deleted power supplies that are no longer in production. Tomorrow I will check for additional reviews.
So what ever happened to the 750 watt Antec true power NEW. Decent reviews if I remember correctly. I bought one around two years ago and its been with me all over the country. Recently recommended it to a friend because of the durability I've seen from it, and realized newegg nor any other retailer sells them.....
The recommendations are based on technical reviews at the following web sites:
AnandTech
Hard OCP
Hardware Heaven
Hardware Secrets
jonnyGURU
KitGuru
Overclock 3D
PC Perspective
Silent PC Review
TechPowerUp
Tom's Hardware
Xbit Labs
The web sites were used because they have the necessary equipment and people to conduct highly detailed tests and analysis. Different review sites sometimes publish different results for the same psu. That is not unusual. Read the reviews and draw your own conclusion.
PSU's that are no longer in production are not included in order to keep the list manageable. However, you still might be able to find an "old favorite" at some online vendors.
Information about each model is limited to keep the list manageable. Detailed product specifications can be found in the reviews and product pages.
New brands, models, and reviews will be added when available, usually within 48 hours of review publication. Psu's that are no longer in production will be deleted when the information becomes available.
2. Here is a link to a brand new, up to date psu lemon list:
The past two weeks have been fairly quiet. There were a couple of in depth reviews of psu's that were already on the power supply recommendations list:
Jonnyguru also has some reviews of a few other Apevia lemons, including the "420W" PSU-shaped object in the X-QPack, and the"680W" Beast. Oh, and one of the Warlocks. I believe they all may still be available.

Those reviews over at jonnyGURU go back a few years. The Apevia Warlock was reviewed on 2 June 2008. The Beast was reviewed on Oct-05-2006. The Apevia/Aspire psu's currently at newegg have different, longer model numbers.
Apevia actually has quite a few cases that include a 420 watt power supply. I'll look into it.
I don't know that it's the exact same one, as one "feature" of the X-QPack PSU was its very small size. It wouldn't surprise me if the innards were similar.
I was probably looking at wattage and names, not part numbers. Apevia is on my "Do Not Buy" list...
BFG went out of business a few years ago. They had some good models.
thank you
I just bought a Asus AM3 880 mobo,Phenom II x 4 925 CPU and a BFG 450w PSU as a combo deal for $50 USD from my boss at work
building a second system on the cheap so I was curious if that BFG was decent
Apevia Update - I did a little research. Last year Hardware Secrets did a review of a newer TuboLink model. It was another lemon - fake wattage, etc. etc. In addition the old Warlock and the X-Qpack with the 420 watt psu are still for sale at several online vendors. I will definitely be adding more Apevia psu's to the lemon list even if the reviews are 6 years old.
The size of the lemon list has almost tripled because the list now includes lemons that were reviewed from 2005 to the present. PSU's that are no longer in production are also included since it is possible that some of the lemons might still be available.
The list of recommended psu's has also been updated:
This month saw the addition of another XFX psu. As usual it was manufactured by Seasonic for XFX. In addtion, two new Xigmatek psu's were added based on reviews by jonnyGURU and Hardware Secrets. I also added links to several new reviews of psu's that were already on the recommended list.
Anandtech did a round-up style review of 11 cheap psu's. When they're really cheap you can bet there will be lemons.
I'd like an opinion about Overclockers which is another site that does psu reviews. It looks like Overclockers is another site that has the proper equipment and people to perform rigorous psu testing and component analysis. If so, then I'll include then in my list of appropriate review sites. Here are some examples of their psu reviews:
