Hey everybody,

I've been having this problem for a while now and it is driving me crazy. When I put my laptop in my backpack for 30 minutes, my ASDFJKL keys just stop working. Then the keys most of the time begin to work after 5-15 minutes, but sometimes they won't work anymore at all. I then open the back of the laptop and push down on the supposed connector (see attached picture). I have put some electrical tape on the connector but the problem persists. Any idea?

Having to push a connector to make it work is problem enough I would think. It could be that connector is failing or the motherboard

Well keyboards after awhile, start losing contact with the electrical panel or whatever is under them, same happens with computer keyboards, that can be the case here, as manadark said, take it to a shop and let them check it out there is no other way, otherwise buy a wireless keyboard and use it.

Do any of the pins on the end of the cable damaged? How about the connector (any damage, or any debris caught in it that might inhibit proper contact)?

Worst case is the keyboard controller on the motherboard is bad. I'd suggest replacing the keyboard (if it comes to it), then test further before suspecting the motherboard.
