I just wanted to repost my website, if anyone's interested. I've just reorganized the tips & tweaks in there, as well added links to other helpful sites.

Thanks to <b>ToeJam31</b> at his <A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=faq&notfound=1&code=1" target="_new">post</A> in which I also included.

Congratulations on making the Langa List! I really enjoyed seeing one of my online compatriots hit the scene with a useful website! I've been getting the List in my email for years, (it's a good read) and I was tickled pink to see your name come up.

Check ya later ...

Thanks, Toey! Dude, I was so fired up that I finally got linked.

Did you see my page for <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/btvillarin/WindowsXP/links.htm" target="_new">"Other Windows XP Sites"</A>? I put a post you made last month about sites you should check out before asking more questions. I thought you did a great job, and I wanted to thank you.

Anyways, I'm stoked that so many people are checking it out. Also, people have been emailing me asking for help... So, that's all cool.

Later,
Bryan

I think I should bump this thread again. Please don't think I'm a stupid idiot for trying to get people to check out my website, but I think that it has some value, as well as really good links to check out before you post that question.

Thanx,
Bryan

Here, I just bumped it again. And, you're not being stupid. Your web site has alot of usefull info. I know that I've been using it. I know that this has been mentioned before, but we could really use an exclusive XP forum on THG.

No doubt, man. Windows 9x/ME doesn't deserve to be in the same forum as XP. LoL

i've just got a second hard drive which i want to use as a scrath disk for photoshop. should i use NTFS which is what i am using for my os? also, would using a partition on this 2nd disk for my swap file increase performance?

I'm actually wondering this as well (for my personal data, mp3s, music videos, etc). I'm in two posts (<A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=33331#33331" target="_new">here</A> and <A HREF="http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=32&threadid=695413" target="_new">here</A>), and the THG is pointing that as long as I'm an administrator, and I know the user name and password, I should be okay. So far in the Anandtech forums, they're ticked since it's been asked too many times. So far, I've been using FAT32 for my data.

My 2nd hard drive is set up so that the beginning 600MB is NTFS for my swap file, and the rest (55GB FAT32) is for my data. Since you have this 2nd hard disk, it'd be better to have the paging file on this drive instead of with the OS. It's less disk head movement (or something like that).

ok thanks again bud.
i know that photoshop doesnt like to have it's scratch disk on the same partition as windows swap file. and i dont want to put my photoshop scratch on the end of my c drive because, well, it is the end of the disk.
i think i might spend quite a bit of time and try a few options out for myself while my disks are relatively empty.

Thanks for your help!

*Bump*
I added a tip for Office XP users, who have it configured just the way you want it. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else, so I thought it might be helpful.
