Hi,

The chipset fan on my motherboard is extremely loud.
Can I get some software to lower the speed, or if it is easy to replace, can
someone recommend another fan?

Apparently you can safely replace it with a heatsink. I bought the
Zalman ZM-NB47J but never got round installing, but you're right, the
fan sure is noisy

I, also, have an A8N-E, but the fan is quiet, but I had a SOYO board where
the chipset fan was loud. You can buy a chipset fan package with fan,
heatsinks, etc... for about $10-$20 and it's easy to install.

Hi,

I use zalman fanmate to decrease fan rotation to 8000 to 5000 rpm and
the temp doesn't increase a lot (2-3 degreees C)
