Will ASUS do anything about the fan if I call them? I just got this MB and
it is by far the loudest piece in the case!

Not happy.

Yes, they will replace it. But you are better off replacing it with a
passive Zalman chipset cooler (the blue one).

Many have reported that Asus will replace the fan with a new and improved
fan.
Just call them.

The fan issue is a FAQ, see the recent postings with "A8N" and "fan" in
subject.

The fan of my A8N-SLI became even louder ("chainsaw") due to ultra low
quality bearings after about 18 hours of operation (according to HD's
Power_on_hours SMART attribute).
