Hello all, most of the charts im looking at on this site are not for 2009 so I will ask you. I am looking for the absolute top of the line CPU for a LGA 775 Socket motherboard. ASUS RAMPAGE FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard. My current system is:

Intel Quad Core 2.8ghz CPU
ATI Radeon 4870X2, 2 gig
8gigs OCZ memory
300gig Western Digital Veloci Rapor HD
24inch 10000:1 Display
1100 Watt PSU

Furthermore I need cooling, the room the PC sits in gets hot at times due to all the electronics, which makes it dangerous for this magnitude of a PC because it runs hot itself. I need some heavy duty cooling.

Don't type thread titles in All Caps ... even words.

I'm no Intel user but I know the Core 2 line is quite an overclocker. I've heard of core 2 quads reaching 4 GHz with improved cooling I think. I think overclocking is the only option, as you will be paying 1000 dollars for just a 3.0 GHz CPU which is essentially the same as yours (maybe with unlocked multiplier). You may look into liquid cooling.

As sanchz said, a 3.0Ghz Intel Core2Quad is the fastest thing on socket 775 and they probably won't release anything faster as it's a dead socket. Although they make a non extreme edition which can be had for $324.99 on newegg.com.

Your best bet if you want better performance is learn to overclock, as far as cooling is concerned I'm not the right guy to ask.

Not quite - they did release a 3.2GHz 1600FSB part (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...&cm_mmc_o=TBBTkwCjCVyBpAgf mwzygtCjCVRqCjCVRq). It just isn't worth that kind of cash.
