I recently had a boot sector failure on my hard drive. After replacing the
hard drive, I set the old drive up as a slave and it is usable as drive D:.
When I use Windows explorer to navigate through the old drive when I try to
open the "Owner's Documents" folder, I get an "Access Denied" message. I've
logged onto my system as Administrator and as Owner and neither one can
access the files.

When I used the software that came with the new drive, I can access the
folder and copy it, which I did. I copied the whole folder to my new drive
and then tried to log on normally. Now I can navigate the folder, but I
cannot access any of the files. I get the message "user does not have access
privileges."

Anyone know of a work around?

You've got to take ownership of the folder. Take a look here for
the procedure:

Thank-you. That fixed the problem right up. I was looking for answers in
all the wrong places.

You're welcome. Glad to hear you were able to recover your
folder.
