Ok so I want to turn my old router into an access point. I want it to get wireless signal from the main router and then to be able to get wired and wireless internet from the old one , I mean using it like a repeater. How do I do that ?

Well my router model is not compatible. But can't I flash it with a custom firmware or is the wired option my only choice ?

If it it not supported by dd-wrt, then it is unlikely that your router has a chipset that can do a repeater bridge.

An Ethernet cable connection is your best choice, followed by MOCA or powerline to the router configured as an AP if you cannot run a cable.
