Question Access Violation Errors and BSOD ?

getting Access Violation / BEX errors on every game, and many programs. either as soon as a game loads, or 10-20 minutes into playing without fail. Also lots of PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD
I've swapped out everything besides the motherboard and CPU at this point. 3 full clean installs, and every configuration of ram you could possibly put and still getting the same behavior.
  • Intel I5-6500.
  • MSI B150m motherboard.
  • GTX 1050 TI.
  • Hkinx S31 500gb SSD.
  • 2X8 Oloy ddr4 ram
  • Windows 10.
  • Corsair CS550
Heres my Troubleshooting path:

  • Clean Install X3
  • New Ram
  • Install on just SSD
  • Install on Just HDD
  • Bios Flash / Reset
  • All the checkdisks/scannow's/Memtest86+ the usual
  • Paging file on/off
  • New PSU
  • Resat everything except the CPU
I think its a CPU/MOBO issue but dont know how to troubleshoot that.
Lost for things to try and solve the issue

CPU - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool

motherboard - there isn't any way to test a motherboard. You either have a spare and can swap all the hardware onto it (unlikely) or you test all the other hardware, or in your case, replace it... and if it still doesn't work, you have to assume it Motherboard.

might not help but might as well look at dumps. Is the page file on as it won't create any dumps if its off.

Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD - that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD

  1. copy that file to documents
  2. upload the copy from documents to a file sharing web site,
  3. and share the link in your thread so we can help fix the problem
Non paged area is ram, its where all the drivers live. It could be a driver error still though after 3x installs you would have to be really unlucky.

I assume no add on cards like WIFI or anything?

CPU passes diagnostics tests

Just tried to reseat the CPU but still running into the same problems, Didn't notice any types of corrosion on either the CPU or socket.

Copy of the dump files. including one (of many) from cyberpunk
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GG1pc0A_OJteAnewZvmNideQE_4qyTl1/view?usp=sharing

No add on cards just GPU in the PCI slot.

I have this nagging feeling it's caused by the SSD, because when I installed that, that's when the blue screen's started to show. again I did a full clean install with the SSD unconnected, yet same errors. however prior to that, when I was on just the HDD I was running into an issue where the CPU was only spinning at 1/4 speed, with constant TDP throttling. I really didn't use the comp over the summer months so unsure when that might have started.

Could also be <Mod Edit> windows 10 updates.

Does CPU run at right speed now? only reason it should throttle down is heat. Is PC clean of dust?

it can't be the ssd if you got same errors installing on hdd as well

A friend might post in here later with a conversion of the dumps. he may not have an answer for you but should have an attachment I can look at.

Hi, I ran the dump files through the debugger and got the following information: https://jsfiddle.net/bv6u3yq9/show This link is for anyone wanting to help. You do not have to view it. It is safe to "run the fiddle" as the page asks.

Comment: The 121120-5421-02.dmp dump file was 0 bytes long which means it's invalid.

Comment: The overclocking driver "IOCBios2.sys" was found on your system. (Intel Extreme Tuning Utility)

Comment: The overclocking driver "RTCore64.sys" was found on your system. (MSI Afterburner)

The nvlddmkm.sys file is a NVIDIA graphics card driver. There are a few things you can do to fix this problem. First off, try a full uninstall using DDU in Safe Mode then re-install the driver (more information). Or try getting the latest version of the driver. Or try one of the 3 most recent drivers released by NVIDIA. Drivers can be found here: http://www.nvidia.com/ or you can allow Windows Update to download the driver for you, which might be a older/better version.

BIOS info is not included in any of the dump files. This can mean an outdated BIOS is being used.

This information can be used by others to help you. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

top one is obviously nvidia drivers

bottom one appears to be a report made by Watson, don't see those very often. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Watson_(debugger)
SOFTWARE_NX_FAULT_BAD_IP_ - NX = Non execute - Windows tried to run a memory address that isn't meant to be run. htps://community.osr.com/discussion/99537/software-nx-fault

2 of your crashes actually crashed Windows Error Reporting. It is amazing they crashed and also managed to record the crashes.

Do you use Wifi or LAN? What wifi card are you using?
Mar 31 2016rtwlane_13.sysRealtek PCIEWireless LAN PCI-E NIC driver (Realtek Semiconductor Corp)

I only asked as they are oldest drivers on PC and since I can't see an obvious cause apart from Nvidia drivers (you have latest now so try older ones) then I look at old drivers.

It's certainly been weird, almost everything crashes and nothing throws a popup error.

I use lan but I had a Wi-Fi card installed. during troubleshooting, I tried with it in and out but didn't uninstall the drivers.

not sure If I've solved things yet but I was able to run Cyberpunk 2077 for about 15 hours with no crashes, and was even able to close an re-open it (any heavy games usually crash immediately or will run for 10 minutes) I haven't stressed it much on the second time so I'm still not hopeful the issues are solved.

Here's what I did:

  • Unplugged HDD
  • Removed PCI Wifi module
  • Did a full window reset which wipes the registry.
  • Overvolted CPU using throttle stop
  • Overclocked GPU

in that order seemed to stabilize the system. ¯\\(ツ)

I'll update this thread if that worked or not. haven't checked some of the drivers mentioned here. the windows reset doesn't seem to flush the drivers.
