"You can even configure the system with up to four AMD RX Vega, or two Nvidia GTX 1080Ti graphics cards.", shouldnt it be the otherway around considering the power draw of vega?!
Nvidia allows only two GeForce cards to be used together in SLI.
At the same time however, with Intel's highest-end consumer processor in there in addition to the fact most productivity software (especially 3D) use only CUDA it would not take much to assume that some people would look at this as a quick way to get their hands on a beefy workstation with 4 Geforce cards. I know a couple of people, both of them hobbyist 3D artists, who cannot be convinced to ditch Alienware! They cannot arsed to build their own "HEDT" computers even though I have offered to do it personally for them.
Not saying I would go this route myself as I have not purchased a prebuilt in nearly ten years but I personally think that it is a market that they might be missing by denying the simple option of selecting 4 Nvidia cards in there when customising with a warning that this is a "compute" build and SLI will not work.
That is unless factors like supply are an issue.
