[SOLVED] Adapter Help

I'm getting a DVI-D to VGA adapter and i wanted to know that, Should i return it and buy a DisplayPort to VGA or still get the DVI-D to VGA (my gpu is a MSI RX 560 2gb)

Guessing you are trying to connect the card to a monitor with VGA only port. I'd use a DP to VGA. Don't know about that exact brand you picked, the ones we use at work are from Startech, C2G or Belkin, all those we have seem to work fine.

The DVI-D to VGA may not work for all cards.

Yeah i have to use the DP or DVI-D to VGA (Monitor), I'm currently using the HDMI cable for my primary Monitor

So the DP to monitor cable is going to monitor #2 - correct?

My general philosophy is to keep things as simple as possible.

For example instead of a GPU port to adapter to cable to monitor path I would opt for a cable that would be direct.

GPU [DP plug] <---- cable ---->[VGA port] Monitor
