My last build was in 2012 and that was an i5-3570K and 670 GTX which was a monster in its day but because of life and children I haven't until now been able to get back into gaming, after a bit of research I have decided on these parts but would love some thoughts and advice from the guys who know their stuff! I do plan to buy a 3080 when it is released in case anyone thinks I forgot the most important part.

Corsair H115i RGB PLATINUM 97 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (front mounted as intake)
Gigabyte X570 AORUS MASTER ATX AM4 Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor
Corsair H115i RGB PLATINUM 97 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Corsair HX Platinum 750 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Corsair 275R Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case

Extras (to replace the three fans included with the case, all exhaust)
Corsair ll Series ll120 RGB 120mm Dual Light Loop RGB LED PWM Fan 3 Fan Pack with Lighting Node Pro Cooling CO-9050072-WW

A MASSIVE thank you in advance!

a 3900x solely for gaming is way overkill, even 3700x is more than enough to do the job
Well I completely agree with what you're saying about the gaming aspect surely additional cores are better for future games, potential steaming and an extra bit of headroom for background software/bloatware (RGB) etc? My budget also allows for it too, shame I could drop the 3900X for the 3700X and get a 3090 haha

What resolution on refresh rate is the monitor you intend to use?

The 3900x is overkill for gaming, the 3800x o 3800xt would be as far as you need to go, use the money saved for somethng else.

A 3090 is a 4k gpu. Do you have a 4k monitor that won't restrict the 3090's performance?

I intend to buy the LG 27" 1440p 144hz monitor I cant remember model number but its about £400 in the UK and I intend to play other games like Fallout 4/76 (other RPG) on a 4K large TV at 60fps.
