Hi,

I just wanted some advise on the components I've picked for my new PC before ordering them.
This build is mainly going to be used for gaming. Also planning to overclock.

These are the components:

Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty z270 gaming k6
CPU: Intel I5 7600k @ 3.8 Ghz / Turbo 4.2 Ghz
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RBG - DDR4 - 2x8 GB - 2400 Mhz - 288-PIN
CPU water cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 RGB
Case: NZXT S340 Elite

Because I cannot afford anything else at the moment, I'll use some of the hardware I'm using right now:

PSU: Corsair RM650
GPU: Asus GTX760-DC2OC 2GB GDDR5
HDD: 931GB Western Digital WDC WD1002FAEX-00Z3A0

My question is: I have looked up all the specs and it should work, but I just want a second opinion or maybe some tips.

Solution
well, within your budget you can do the following:

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor (€218.90 @ Caseking)
Motherboard: Asus - PRIME B350-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard (€82.97 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (€168.89 @ Alternate)
Video Card: KFA2 - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB OC Video Card (€297.79 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Case: Fractal Design - Meshify C Dark TG ATX Mid Tower Case (€85.89 @ Alternate)
Total: €854.44

or what i'd do is:
CPU: Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor (€167.59 @ Alza)
Motherboard: ASRock - B360 Pro4 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard...
It would all work.
At this time, I'd look at the i5-8600K and a z370 - the cost shouldn't be that much more and the extra 2 cores will be a noticeable improvement.
AMD Ryzen would also be an option, especially if cost is a limiting factor - you can get better performance for the same cost.
The other thing is an SSD, at least for the system boot drive. That would give you a MASSIVE difference in responsiveness.

Everything's fine, but I agree with the mentioned above. The upgrade for 8th gen Intel is very substantial and more future proof. The 8600K trade blows with the 7700K in terms of performance.

If budget is restrict, i'd tune down the Case, Cooler or RAM as they are fairly expensive for just a good aesthetic improvement. And, after all you want your PC to run good not just look good.

If I pick the i5-8600K, should I also get faster RAM or doesn't it matter that much? I would've gone for the 2400 Mhz, because the 7600K listed it as recommended. I also want to get the MSI Z370 Gaming plus with the 8600K.

what is your budget for this upgrade ?
K is kinda pointless waste of money on anything that is not i7
for the price of 8600K (including MB and cooler) you can have an i7-8700 (non K) which is way better CPU. that not to mention ryzen alternatives.
Also, X62 is a shiny toy. the money would be better invested in something like new GPU.

My budget is around 850 euros which is around 1000 USD.

My current PC has this:

CPU: Intel I5-750 @ 2.66 Ghz
CPU cooler: came with processor.
RAM: 6GB
Mobo: Acer H57M01
and the components mentioned above.

Maybe good to know.

Video Card: KFA2 - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB OC Video Card (€297.79 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Case: Fractal Design - Meshify C Dark TG ATX Mid Tower Case (€85.89 @ Alternate)
Total: €799.69

If you ready to overspend 100 euro, the 1060 can be swapped for GTX 1070.

If you insist that GPU is not included in this upgrade:

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor (€286.85 @ Mindfactory)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! - Dark Rock 4 CPU Cooler (€61.90 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Motherboard: Asus - Prime Z370-P ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (€116.99 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (€152.74 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Case: Fractal Design - Meshify C Dark TG ATX Mid Tower Case (€85.89 @ Alternate)
Total: €704.37
