Hello, I have a question for which I cannot find an answer elsewhere despite looking quite a bit.
I have a decent system for gaming and I run two 265 refresh rate Asus ROG Swift PG279QM monitors. These have G-Sync, so I keep V-Sync disabled in all games, as far as I know.
No issues, ever. But then I got the new HAVN HS 420 case and transferred everything from the old case. No issues for two months. Then for Christmas I received a small monitor to use inside the case, as seen here (www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfW5guw6RTE - min 24:11). I got the smaller (compared to the video) Intehill Portable Monitor Touchscreen 10.5 Inch Portable Monitor Touchscreen 10 Point Multi-Touch 1920 x 1280 FHD.
Installation went without any issues, monitor runs fine, enjoying having it to use as a small relaxing background or to repeat some kanji characters, etc.
- But then yesterday I noticed a 1/2 second freeze in Overwatch 2 while playing, twice in one day. Never had that before. On one of the big ASUS monitors of course.
- Then today I got into Stardew Valley (also on one of the ASUS), and unless I am in Windowed mode (so Fullscreen or Borderless Windowed), there is significant screen tearing unless I turn V-Sync ON in game. I tested what happens if I fully disconnect the Intehill, and indeed, there is no tearing anymore without V-Sync if that is disconnected.
So long-ish story short, it seems like this additional small monitor is a) creating some issues and b) making G Sync not work properly? Even though it had nothing running but a windows background when I was playing.
Is this a thing? Because it has different specs than the other two monitors and no G Sync it's creating issues? Any idea how to avoid issues? Otherwise I am sending it back.
ASUS monitors are connected to 4080 via DP. Intehill via HDMI.
My setup is as follows:
CPU - 13700K
GPU - RTX4080
Board - MSI Z790
PSU - Corsair RM1000x 80 Plus Gold
Cooler - NZXT Kraken Liquid Cooler Z73 RGB 360 mm
LianLi fans, Samsung 990PRO M2s
Thanks for any thoughts!
