After I installed my GPU I can't play games due to a huge dip in fps

I've been using integrated graphics for a while and finally got down to buying a gpu it's a 1060 3gb once I put it in I got a huge drop in fps.

I'd also like to add that the gpu-z thing also showed up for a moment when i turned my pc on if that helps at all

GPU-Z is not something that "shows up" when you start Windows. It is an app that you open to access it.

Yes, you should save all of your files as a backup. No, you won't need a new license to reinstall Windows on the same hardware.

i did the check and it says all is fine.
