Man the 360 and PC were supposed to be buddys..Sharing exclusives and what not.At least thats how MS made it sounds before the 360 came out.

This generation of consoles has turned out to be a curse for PC gamers.

S**t its a curse on gamers in general.

Its not really a loss in my mind, PC gamers would have probably gotten some horrible 360 port which would have destroyed the game anyway.

MS is just plodding along on the same path they've been on for a good while. The XBox is only viable as a defense of the Windows-PC. If MS hadn't done anything, we would have seen the day when the new home computer would have become the Sony PS. And from there, it would have progressed, to the office, to web-servers, business servers, supercomputing.
Competing on the console market, undercutting profits, forces Sony to remain a console.
So far so good. But this takes on a life of it's own, thanks to stupid in-Microsoft feuding and competition. And there, the XBox crowd have been backstabbing, undermining and burying PC-gaming.
This is a huge strategic mistake by MS. PC-gaming is really the ONLY reason we need Windows. But there's a lot of things Ballmer doesn't understand. That's why MS haven't really made any progress with him at the helm.

[citation][nom]Curnel_D[/nom]That aside, the current Gen of Consoles is way outdated. It's basically keeping PC gaming stuck in the stone ages of DX9. Hell, the ATI graphics powering the 360 is literally 6 hardware generations behind. Fanboys are usually the first to walk up to the pissing line, but he "is" right.[/citation]

He is with no doubt right about the hardware being waaay outdated. But that does not mean that the system no longer provides a good experience to the user.

However I cannot agree with you about pc gaming being held back by consoles. Yes if the hardware on the major consoles were all beefed up to current gen, then pc gaming would definitely receive a boost. But to say that it's the consoles' fault is going way too far.

I think that pc gamers really like to make the consoles out to be the scapegoats for their pc gaming problems. Wake up guys. There has been a major shift interest away from pc gaming. If pc gaming was more appealing to other gamers, then game devs would be making games FIRST for the pc and not as a secondary port.

I'm not saying I like it. But come one. It's not that hard to see that most gamers out there prefer consoles over pcs's...

[citation][nom]crinzema[/nom]Well, i guess there's one more game I won't be interested in anymore.[/citation]

If your interest for a game is dependent on the platform for which it is released, you probably shouldn't be playing games in the first place.

[citation][nom]psycho sykes[/nom]This should be: "Bad idea, never make a game for an in-dated PC!"[/citation]

This should be: "We made good games in the past (Mp 1 and 2) and we want to support our families and stay in business. However we can do that the most effectively will be our course of action and we're hoping that those of you who were fans of our previous games will be fans of our upcoming game!"

Here you go, fixed it for you! 😉

Any developer associated with Microsoft is forced to produce either exclusive games for it or forced to remove things like Cooperative play or even multiplayer from the PC version. MS wants to promote the XBox because they want you to buy your MS Windows for your computer and Xbox for games. This way they get even more money out of you instead of being able to run Office stuff and Games on one PC.
.

Microsoft wants you to buy an Xbox. Selling disks for the console is more profitable than for the PC. Not releasing games for PC is one way to sell Xbox's. Releasing games for PC that do not support Game pads is another way to sell the Xbox. Not releasing games for the PC that would make the Xbox look bad is yet another way to sell an Xbox. Making PC gaming less viable for gaming is yet one more strategy to sell more of the Xbox.

Now this is a sentiment I cannot understand. I have four consoles. PS2, PS3, XB, XB360, and there are some game genres which are well suited for consoles. But every PC gamer who have something better than 'Intel GMA' knows that PC games are much better experiences. Take any RPG or FPS for instance, which is released both on console and PC. There's no comparison. The PC version is a vastly superior. Even better again, are games which never were meant to be released on console in the first place, and thus are not crippled in their original version. Night & Day.
So there's every reason to be interested in what platform a game is released on.

Yes, I think I can agree with that. I'm certain I would have purchased Alan Wake. I always planned to. However, I'll never buy a XB360 game called 'Alan Wake'. No chance in hell. It doesn't matter if all reviews are rave. All reviews were rave about 'Gears of War', what a let down that was. But it did once again confirm that shooters or roleplay on console is always crap. Life is not long enough to waste on such.

I have the feeling that this might be the way the XBox peeps at MS thinks, in any case it's how they acts. But it's a huge mistake. When they make the Windows PC less compelling for games, they make it less compelling overall. Then we don't need it any more. I don't depend on a single application that doesn't exist on Linux and Apple. And I know a few people who think their console is all they need for gaming, who also have made the choice to live with Apple's Mac or Ubuntu on a home-built, instead of Windows. So maybe MS's dropping market share is coupled with them ignoring PC-gaming.
Another opportunity for Google, I'm sure.

Not everyone has an XBox, I don't. I also much prefer the Mouse & Keyboard interface over the gamepad controls.

That is why people like him and I are only interested in PC games.

are the (MS) stupid..??
Windows always scores lower than the other OSs.
the ONLY reason I (and many) need Windows is because of PC-gaming..
trolls..

I designed my current PC 3 years ago for Alan Wake. I have waited a long time for this game and now they cancel it. Really sucks MS.

=(

My screen is 1634mm x 323mm. That's 1665mm (67") diagnolly (including the thin bezels, triple monitor).
My television is 32".
I'm play it on my damned PC or not at all, thank you.
