Albert Wesker/RE 4 Connection?

In RECV, Wesker said that he now belonged to a new organization and I wonder,
now that I am playing RE4, could that organization, that Wesker now belongs to,
be Los Illuminados led by Lord Sadler. I keep thinking of Wesker's super
strength, the way his eyes looked in RECV, and what he said. RE4 could have
been an idea that was forming during the making of RECV. Those of you who have
played and beat the game, I haven't beat the game yet, but, without spoiling
the game for me, tell me if I am getting warm or getting cold with my theories.
Thanks!

I don't know - maybe a mixture... I don't think the current RE4 was forming
back in CV - mainly because RE4 has been through 4-ish different forms to
date... Plus it's much easier to think "how do we add to this series" rather
than "why don't we set this game up so that games after this look like
that".

I'm not discounting it - but I don't know of a single game that has
references to subsequent games, while the reverse is often true (subsequent
games having references to earlier games).

Grand Theft Auto III is one. Just outside Francis Intl Airport in
Shoreside Vale is a huge billboard that says "See you in Miami".
GTA: Vice City, the next installment, was modelled on Miami.

Right. More often than not, what looks like it's being set up for the next
game doesn't happen at all anyway.

Nope, this is how it goes, pieced together from memos and accounts
from the games.

In RE1, Wesker was working for a rival organization that was trying to
steal Umbrella's secrets (and viri). Wesker, in theory, was already
developing his powers through whatever the company he was working for
gave him. Remember, though, this is Wesker. All of his intentions have
ulterior motives. He never intended to truly aid the company he was
working for.

From the memo in RE1, we know Ada is involved somehow (she was dating
one of the mansion workers to spy on Umbrella). Remember in RE4, Ada
says "I've known Wesker for a long time. Longer than Krauser". This
means she probably knew Wesker before RE1 took place, and took orders
only from him, though on the surface, she was working for the
"company" as well.

After the US government took out Umbrella, Wesker had a new plan. He
discovered Saddler and the Plagas, and saw an opportunity. He then
envisioned a situation in which he could revive Umbrella (the very
company he was working against), only this time, with him at the helm.
He just needed the "sample" that Saddler was trying so desperately to
get back from Luis.

Luis was working for Wesker as well. He was one of the few that knew
everything about Saddler and the Plagas. He was one of the ones that
helped release and develop the thing. Wesker played Luis, most likely
on his guilt for what he did in reviving it, and money. Wesker's true
plans, it seems, are to revive Umbrella with him leading it, in order
to achieve a multiple number of goals that have yet to be release.

We do know that Wesker hates Chris, Jill, and Barry more than life
itself. He doesn't care about Leon, which is why he never orders Ada
or Krauser to actually kill him. In fact, Wesker in a way strings Leon
along with the whole kidnapping thing (his idea, he told Krauser to go
to Saddler and propose the plan and execute it) in order to retrieve
the samples.

It is a complex situation, but it all leads to Wesker successfully
gaining the Plagas samples from Ada.

Where the series goes from here, who knows. It'll be very interesting
to see what they do with it (though unfortunately, we won't know if
Mikami will ever be involved with RE again, due to Capcom stabbing him
in the back by having a secret team of developers who have never
developed a game before start work on RE4 for the PS2, which they have
to start from scratch due to its inability to run RE4 in its current
form).

I swear I got him in three shots on the PS2, no matter how well I aim I
have to finish him off with the assault rifle.

And that bloody poison gas he emits is a PITA too, blue herb mixes
don't seem to cure it and Claire stays poisoned until Chris finds hers.

Cheers,
Rob
