Really? Very interesting

Nope - Whitehaven doesn't have infinite amounts of both Ash Yam and
Bloat but one of the gents in the Sadrith Mora Imperial Cult (directly
underneath the SM Mage Guild which is pretty easy to get to) DOES.
I assume you know about the trick to buy/sell/buy/sell etc. to get
these merchants' inventories up to a suitable level? In other words,
if you buy 5 bloat, say goodbye, immediately sell those 5 bloat back
there will be 10 bloat available for sale next time? Done in this way
you can readily get them up to 100+ of any component you want. The
trick is they don't do that with EVERY item they sell but you can
easily find out which they do by buying all their components and then
selling back what they have more of when you get to them.
If you have say 100 each of marshmerrow and saltrice you're in a good
position since if for instance you have alchemy at 20 and you make ALL
of them you'll end up with 15-25 potions plus probably 4 or 5 points
of skill. This is useful in the early game if you want to get your
intelligence up since alchemy is tied to intelligence. The actual
potions you get from this method can either be used or sold of course.
It is in fact quite easy to get your skill up to 60+ by level 4 though
done correctly you should get +5 intelligence every level. This is a
big deal for a mage.
(This DOES take a reasonable amount of cash but if you've got Tribunal
loaded you'll get plenty the first or second time you rest if you kill
the assassin and sell the armor)
In similar manner you can do the same thing with armorer skill and
strength - I never pay a smith to repair my weapons - I *do* buy lots
of hammers and repair tongs. I never have cast disintegrate armor on
opponents just to spoil their armor to get my hammers busy after I
kill them BUT I _have_ drunk a long-term healing potion (say Restore
Health 25 points for 500 seconds) when faced with low level creatures
like rats and spiders and gone for dinner and found my armor skill up
4 or 5 when I got back. You have to choose your location carefully
(else you'll wind up dead) but my favorite here is just outside the
entrance to the Morag Tong main hideout among the crates so the rats
can't get behind you.
The only one of these that is REMOTELY a cheat is the alchemy thing
but all of these are straight keyboard activities which don't involve
the console at all. My attitude on the buy/sell/buy/sell stunt is that
I could go their 20 times and do the same thing so what is the
difference but a preferred Bethesda solution would be to require the
sold-out merchant to wait 24 hours before re-stocking - this is what
happens with Creeper's cash so it should not be too onerous a patch
for them.
