Hi all,

I have tried chrome, firefox and edge on windows 11. Yesterday al lbroswers will work ok right after boot but within minutes, when I search the results may or may not show but the screen goes home or back to the search page; not the search results. Sometimes I can hit the forward arrow to get to the search results; so it's seems like a 'back' is being 'hit' when I use search.

I have scanned for malware/hijacks using malwarebytes and bitdefender and both report a clean system. I've run windows update and disabled all browser extensions.

Searching for solutions (on a diff computer) has not produced any good suggestions for a fix. I've uninstalled firefox and chrome and cleared caches etc then reinstalled but the problem persists. I suspect it's something with windows 11 not the browser since I have the issue with 3 different ones, I also think I've noticed that direct URLs work fine, the minute I use the search box, I'm hosed. Any advice is appreciated!

In firefox when I try to go to the browser settings->search, the screen flickers and leaves me on the 'General' settings page.

I've also noticed that when I type into a search box, it appears to be searching and resetting for each character I type or that it searches before I hit enter.. That seems like a clue

had a similar problem with my lenovo till a windows update . usb hid driver got buggy and the keyboard always hit 9 or numlock. even though numlock doesn't even exist on this one. other hid drivers helped so far. don't know if Windows will corrupt it sooner or later again
