Question all files nonvisable on SSD

I unplugged my SSD so my mate could plug in an HDD from his broken laptop and recover some files, which he did no problem, but since plugging my Games drive back in, all the files are inaccessible.

Can anyone help?

I was convinced it was a simple directory error, as I'm sure it was the G: drive (for 'Games') prior to the swap and F: post-swap...
after several error messages and a bit of google, I managed to restore it to 'Games (G' but the files are still not working/visible

I don't really know what else to try, I've tried changing the drive name to unused letters such as (Z with no success...

any thought would be appreciated

nope, PC was off between swaps

Were any changed made to get the buddy's drive working? Bios or anything?
Was there anything special about your game drive? Setup as a Dynamic drive, setup in iRST, multiple partitions?
