Question All monitors turn off (GPU seemingly turns off) after using 3D software ?

Hey everyone,
so this is my first post and I'm completely desperate and don't know what to do anymore.
A few days ago my 3 monitors started to turn themselves off super sporadically after a while of either gaming or 3D working. Sometimes audio stays, sometimes audio slowly bugs out until I can't hear anything anymore. The only way to recover from this is a hard reset. My guess for this is obviously GPU, but at the same time, I don't have any visual bugs that would indicate a faulty GPU - then again I have never faced a faulty GPU and don't know how one would behave. Meaning I could be playing for multiple hours with zero issues, and then it just happens. Hard reset - and everything's back to normal until it happens again.
Side note: Sometimes after rebooting, all my window sizes are reset, some programs reset their visual preferences (switching back to light mode if set to dark mode before) and all 3 monitors have the same wallpaper. Partially the behaviour you'd get, when updating display drivers.

I haven't been able yet to completely boil this down to where this issue comes from and how exactly it gets triggered.
I've never had issues with builds and this is also not my first build.

I've had this exact system for over a year now with zero issues, all that I did recently was reconfigure my custom loop by adding radiators, new pump and tubes. Also this was over 2 weeks ago and the problem has surfaced a few days ago - so I'm not sure if there is a correlation. And because of the custom loop, this isn't a temperature issue since my max temps on the GPU and CPU are always around 60-65 degrees Celsius,

Things I've already tried/done:
  • Update BIOS
  • Update VBIOS (GPU Firmware)
  • Installed freshest display drivers (512.15 from 03/22/2022) (after the problem occured, so this isn't the source)
  • Play around with RAM configurations (Interchange sticks, remove them back and forth)
  • Checked all connections to the GPU and made sure it's sitting in the PCIe slot properly.
  • Fresh installed Windows 10 21H2
My specs:
Asus ROG Strix Z490 Gaming - E Mainboard
Intel Core i9 10900K @ 3,7Ghz
Zotac Nvidia Geforce RTX3080 Amp Holo
2x G.Skill Ripjaws 5's @ 3200Mhz
750W beQuiet! Straight Power PSU

If anything's missing please tell me.
I'm really helpful for any sort of help, since this my last resort. If there is no solution at the end of this, I don't know what to do except buying single components and changing them until the problem disappears.

Thanks everyone!

How old is that 750 Watt BeQuiet PSU? Original (1 year) , new, refurbished, used? History of heavy gaming use?

First start by looking in Reliability History and Event Viewer for error codes, warnings, and informational events that precede or correspond with the times that components turn(ed)off. Or other problems occurred.

Increasing numbers of errors and varying errors is a sign of a failing/faltering PSU.

Hard resets are problematic in themselves but can also damage and otherwise corrupt files. So there may be other problems be created and all gets worse.

If the PSU was at some threshold wattage limit then the new cooler, fans etc. could have pushed the PSU beyond that threshold wattage.

As a result, the PSU simply cannot meet the power demands and some component loses power. Just a brief power glitch is all that is needed.

So I talked to an old friend who I didn't think of before and he suggested the obvious: Checking my temps in HWInfo
I haven't done that, because I kept checking the temps of the chip itself, altough it turns out, that somewhere on my GPU there is a hotspot which reaches over 100 degrees celsius. So I might have found the culprit. This has something to do with my waterblock not being installed correctly I guess. I will reseat the waterblock tomorrow and run some more tests. But this might be the solution to the problem, let's hope and see

Just a quick update:
it was because of the cooling and the 105 degrees obviously
always make sure to double check your waterblocks' instruction manual and to properly apply all the thermal pads and paste. EK for example has pretty good instructions for that
Thank you all
