There have been architecture changes when it comes to BCLK, Intel claimed BCLK 100-200mhz adjustment in 1mhz increments, some Z170 motherboards have reached higher values.So there should be lock for those other frequencies that depend on BCLK.

Hope we are back to the days that overclocking doesn't require an overpriced CPU with unlocked multiplier.

Probably only available with the K CPUs that don't need it anyway. The same way they added BCLK straps with Haswell, then limited them to K CPUs.

The limiting factor should be the motherboard. If you search around there are some cpuz screenshots of an engineering sample(?) i7 non-K with a bclk OC on a z170, it may be fake/cpuz bug but let's hope for the best 😉

Not really. Just like multiplier overclocking is dependent on having a K CPU.
