All,
I am interested in upgrading my motherboard and processor. I currently have an amd board and processor and some DDR2 ram. I would like to upgrade to a an Am2+ or AM3 processor however, I am not sure I will be able to use my older ram with any of these newer boards/processors. Also, what does it mean when I see a board that states DDR2 1066 is supported by AM2+/AM3 CPU for one DIMM per channel only, what am I giving up in terms of performance with this type of board and what can I gain by buying some new ram? I have 5gb of DDR2 ram and would not like to just have that much ram just sitting around.
