Hey guys. So I was having really high temps on my CPU and I thought something was wrong with my cooler, but when I opened up the case the pump was really loose and the AM4 mounting plastic thingy was broken I don't know how that happened, for 2 months it was just fine. I ordered new ones from ebay. Any idea what may have caused that and what I should be careful about so that it doesn't happen again? Thanks in advance.

Screws were overtightened. Obviously.

Possibly. Not sure why they would attach a cooler with a plastic clip anyway. You might want to consider going with a different cooler that has metal clips versus plastic ones as it might happen again.
It’s just that most coolers on the AM4 platform these days have started using the stock AM4 plastic clips to mount on the CPU, so it’s a bit hard finding one that doesn’t mount like that. Also I’m broke I can’t afford another cooler right now lol
