AMD 7870 black screen and no boot

My pc wont boot up with my AMD 7870 in the PCI-E Slot, The screen just stays black. I also have my speakers turned up, Windows dont even boot up and my Keyboard and mouse wont light up either. Any ideals as too why? Bad card? Motherboard? PSU? My old Nvidia gt 630 will boot right up. I've tried to rest my bios, made sure old nvidia drivers are cleaned off hdd, check too see if PCI-E adapters are connected right, and reset card into slot nothing is working.

MB: ECS A960M-M3
CPU: AMD FX 4130 OC at 4.4ghz
PSU: Raidmax Cobra 700 watt
GPU: Powercolor AMD 7870 OC version
OS:Win 7 64-bit
Ram: G.Skill Aegis 2x4GB

If newer BIOS version available for the motherboard, try updating the BIOS.

The 7870 draws more power than the GT 630, so maybe your low-quality PSU isn't up to the task.

Yeah I flashed my bios to the current update yesterday, still a no go 🙁

Then I suggest testing the card in a friend's PC, to make sure that it does work.

Guess I'll find out Wednesday if that is problem or not, 7870 pulls 175 watts and I ordered a Gtx 280 which pulls 236 watts

Solved the problem.. my motherboard dont support amd cards above 6xxx series. Dumb! Well thank you all for trying to help, does support the gtx 280 coming in the mail.

Huh? That makes no sense. Of course it supports newer graphics cards. The PCIe slot doesn't care how old or new the card is.

Couple other forms where the ecs a960m wont display with amd 7850 or 7870 in pci-e slot.

Yup it was the 7870, the GTX 280 is up and running like a champ!
