8350rocks :
Most of the OC'ed 8320's I have seen running air cooling (fan system like 212 EVO) are stable and in normal temp ranges in the 4.4-4.5 GHz range...you should settle in somewhere about there.
That is wicked, I would be happy with that! more than i expected! what about if i went with a corsair H40 water cooler? any better?
LOLNO. The H60 is on par with a 212+, that would be the most misleading downgrade known to man...

the evo http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-Hyper-212-120mm/dp/B0068OI7T8/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1364330286&sr=1-1
H212EVO all the way, and are you considering the PSU I recomended? Remember to check many posts while OCing that 8320.
I was a bit cheeky with the PSU i knew i wouldnt buy another 7850 for over a year so decided to go with only 550w XFX psu as it was on offer! All the reviews for the XFX 550w where good so i decided to get it as it was on offer! pretty close to basically building a whole new system!
Ok just remember when you get a more powerful GFX card to upgrade the PSU...
Yeah will do! What put me off was spending another £75 once I just spent hundreds on the cpu and mobo
🙁 need more money to complete the build! So from now on it going to become a project! How much does it cost for the bridge between graphic cards in crossfire/ sli?
It should come with the 990FX, but remember if you are going to get a CF Setup, upgrade that PSU and you will have a beastly machine.
Thanks for your assistance, this new setup should be able to max most things out at the moment I believe! But most importantly reduce my rendering time down! My i3 system is so dreadfully slow at rendering! Might just have to get crysis 3 or what ever thr new is to test this machine out haha cant wait to put it together
Speaking of Crysis 3, you should be able to max it out. What brand 7850 and how much GDDR5?
I bought the MSI 7850 OC 1gb, load on benchs showed the 1gb oc as fast as the 2gb or just a frame or 2 less
Good choice, you should be getting GTX 480 performance BTW. Another thing, rendering may benefit from extra RAM. If I were rendering I would get a 7870 though, it is worth the hassle.
I will keep it in mind, might get two 7870 and a bigger psu in may December or after battlefield 4 gets released. I'm sure this system will be able to play battlefield 4 anyway but hey why not use it as another excuse to upgrade.
😀
How much more ram do I need for rendering?
For good rendering, 16GB (or more) will give you the best performance, 8GB is more than plenty for gaming but for rendering, sell the 8GB and get yourself a 16GB stick. 16GB is the gold standard for editing/rendering machines.
Would it not be better to have 4 x 4 gb sticks?
No, go with 2x8GB RAM as it is more convienient for you cooler and the AM3+ boards do not support quad channel, therefore losing the benefit of using 4x4. The 4 stick setup would be supported but it would just waste time and space....
more importantly the mobo isnt working
🙁 solid red light on for the cpu! Tried everything and still doesn't work! Well that was a waste of a week waiting
🙁
This could help BTW:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=rdHH9KrceR0
Secure every single standoff into the rig and do the Breadboard and CMOS reset seen above...
done everything! nothing is working
🙁 it going to be sent back then! so what motherboard do i buy instead?
Ach, get another Sabertooth 990FX or a M5A99X , are you sure it was a R2.0 BTW?
Board has ASUS SABERTOOTH R2.0 printed on it! only thing I can think of is it is either broken
🙁 or the bios chip is faulty! I have a speaker attached to the board but when I turn the system on it doesn't bleep or anything! I really dont have a clue what it could be, I dont really want to spend £135-140 on another board maybe £90-100, what can I get in that range? all i want is it to work out the box, sli/crossfire for the future, usb 3.0 and to be able to overclock to at least 4ghz!!!!

😀 This tiam its gunna wurk. Perhaps because it is not sold for parts
😛 The FX R2.0 PRO has the ability to do x16 Dual CF compared to x8 Dual CF on the EVO. Get them quick as they are on sale...
PS: remember to not break/bend the pins when taking the 8320 out, this is not LGA you know

Ground the mobo into the screws as best as you can and leave no standoff unaccounted.
Hi thanks I was looking at the ASUS M5A99FX this morning but wasnt shore if it was really any better than other stuff on the market! Tempted by the asrock 990fx extreme3 because is is only £85! which is pretty good I believe! whats the difference between the ASUS M5A99FX and the SABERTOOTH 990FX? because i dont want the mobo to be slowing my system down, but i would of thought both motherboard are high enough performance to not...
Anyway if you really do recommend the ASUS M5A99FX I will get it as a replacement!
Thanks
The Power phases 4+1(Extreme3) vs 6+2 (M5A99FX) basically meaning M5A OC> Extreme 3 OC potential, the ASUS UEFI BIOS is also the smoothest and easiest BIOS I've ever used, even in Advanced mode where you can OC. The M5A99X has all of ASUS's goodies of course and the Extreme3 is a entry level 990FX while the M5A99FX is a high-end board similar to the P8Z77-V PRO. The Sabertooth has two more Power Phases for those extreme overclocks (5.XX teritory) but the M5A99FX PRO is still a very very very good OCer.
Comparing Extreme3 with M5A99X - http://motherboard.findthebest.com/compare/54-495-695/ASUS-M5A99X-EVO-vs-ASRock-990FX-Extreme3-vs-ASUS-M5A99FX-PRO-R2-0, the M5A99 is the better board all around, especially for SLI/CF...

Ocing (demonstrated by the M5A99X's big brother Crosshair V)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=MckeAmnDeTk This is done with an 8350, so the voltage should be lower, aim for 1.35-1.4 at 4300-4700MHz...
