Despite the public Larrabee flush Intel still went ahead and glued a GPU (well a basic one) next to a CPU and it is selling ... i3 / i5.

I bet the Larrabee project is still up and running ... but under far less pressure now.

Just like the i7 integrated the memory controller eventually, and put 4 cores on the same die (after the core2's) ... they will shortly stick a GPU on the same die as the cpu.

It is more cost effective ... simple.

My prediction ... Larrabee is still running .... under the radar.

I think upendra09 should get a job in AMD/Intel marketing department :) His posts in the forums are just like TV (and internet) advertising, meaning they are: interrupting, not related to anything that is being talked about, annoying and occasional, and most of all, make no sense. Hm... I wouldn't want an employee like that in my company. Join Spintel today! 😀

JK upend...

What do they teach in school these days? yeesh. :pfff:

I agree that he does tend to have an Intel bias but I really must point out that he was one of the few review sites that had the sense to compare the Phenom II X4 920 and 940 to their intended targets. Namely the Q8200 and Q9400 respectively. I will always respect him for that because he didn't tow Intel's line and do the COMPLETELY RETARDED comparison against the i7 which stacks the deck so heavily in Intel's favour. :sol:

Ah, don't be so hard on yourself. I've seen REAL morons in online forums and believe me, you're not one of them. :sol:

Well at least you're a veteran noob. I'm just an apprentice. Apparently I haven't quite learned how to be a noob yet! :sol:

Hey, I'm a Canadian and I LOVE the fact that I can speak French! LOL

Well that's nothing new! LOL

That's why my Avatar tag says "Intel is SATAN!"

Actually it was nVidia doing the bitching about DX11, although Intel probably was involved too.

The Core 2 Quad is NOT a 32-bit CPU. One of the Pentium-4 2.8GHz's was the first Intel x86-x64 CPU and all those that followed are also 64-bit including the Core 2 series. I don't know what point you're trying to make in this case. I hate Intel but I won't lie about them.

Some people just need an Intel-based penis extension. It's so they can feel like they're the big spender buying the completely useless Gallardo when a Supra Turbo is every bit the equal of it in the majority of cases and costs way less.

Isn't backwards compatibility the reason that the AMD Athlon 64 succeeded where the Intel Itanium 64 failed? AMD RULES the realm of backwards-compatibility.

Wait a minute... Intel can't make good GPUs? Well we knew THAT already! LOL

Here come the Canadians (ATi) to the rescue!!!

Along with everywhere else in the world. :sol:

Well he ALMOST gets it all. Except the whacked-out idea that the Core 2 Quad CPUs are 32-bit. (??????)

I do agree that AMD needs the review sites but so many (such as AnandTech) have been bought and are owned by Intel and basically allow Intel to dictate what tests they run and what the outcomes are. I mean seriously, comparing a Phenom II X4 to a Core i7 920 is like comparing a Core 2 Quad to a Core i7 920. Can you say "Apples and Oranges"? LOL! I believe that every site that did that is guilty of either blatant stupidity or of being owned by Intel. You saw Phenom II vs. i7 a lot more than Phenom II vs. Core 2 Quad which would have made a lot more sense IMHO. The Core 2 Quad is what AMD was aiming at. Here's the review that forever destroyed HardOCP's credibility in my eyes:

They took the most powerful i7s and even a Core 2 Extreme QX9650 and compared them to the Phenom II X4 810 and X3 720BE. I mean, just how moronic can you get? Here's to hoping that the Phenom II X6 takes down the Core i7 920! Then AMD will be back in the game because nobody in their right mind will pay the kind of money Intel is going to want for the i7 6-core. :sol:
