Hello, I am having an issue where my cpu is stuck at 1400 MHz and wont surpass it. It started happening recently after my computer randomly crashed. My CPU was overclocked to 4.2 GHz( 200x21) and I had no issues previously. http://imgur.com/aUuVDet

Could be power supply failing.

It was a bit of a pain as I had to take my GPU out, but yes I did. To no effect. I am really at a bit of a loss. I have a feeling it might have something to do with Windows itself, Could it have something to do with me unparking my cores or something?

these mother boards are not the best for overclocking. especially with a 125 watt cpu. should get the 990 series. idk i could be wrong her but i got my fx 6300 to a stable 4.8 ghz with a 990fx board

woops. accidentally added best solution, but I dont know what is wrong, this motherboard may not be the best, but my temperatures have never exceeded 40 degrees. I guess I might just do a full factory reset and see if that fixes it.

i bet it would be with the speed like that. what was your last bios time?. and try to see if you can create a bootable livelinux version to see if it isnt just your operating system. that way you dont have to do a system reset

I did not check the last boot time, but the bootable USB and a new installation did not help. Speed are still at 1400 MHz

Ladies and Gentlement, I am officially a retard lol. I found a little switch on the motherboard called slow mode, flipped it and it is fine now lol. So, if someone has a similar problem, ask them if they have it on. I now have my cpu at a stead 30 degrees idle with a 4.8 ghz oc :D.

after reading down this thread with thoughts of dread and dismay believing that my brand new 990FXA MOBO or my FX-8350 had failed. thank God I share in your 'retardation' and I too had accidentally hit that switch while performing a CMOS reset. What a ridiculous feature for a gaming MOBO, i'm sure it serves a purpose of some kind but what a headache!
