Amd fx8320 + asus 990fx sabertooth + 7950
4,8Ghz @ 1.4Volts (aircooled)

Is it usefull to get a watercooling? Cant go higher because of temps.. already lapped my cpu..

also have a fx6300 + asrock 990fx fatal1ty killer + 7950 as my media PC

Running 4ghz @ 1.37V

with a custom loop(with at least a 360mm rad) for sure, with a pre-assembled cooler you wont have any more headroom than you would with a nhd14/15 or something along those lines

hi just wanna ask if i can OC my fx 6300 to 4.5 ghz using a Deep Cool Tiger shark cooler and a gigabyte 970a-ds3p?im using r9 280x TOXIC. and my PSU is Seasonic 620watts EVO ed.

I also need 6300 overclocking advice. i only want to go to 4.1

Okay guys here you go
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb1QDpRnOvw
that is a YT video for 6300 OCing which should be similar for the rest of the FX series
I have OCd many Phenom II cpus heavily but not the FX
however there are many things that stay the same between the two
if you would like please watch the video then PM me or start a thread on THG asking for advice
the first rule of OCing is to study before you do anything
it is possible to burn out a CPU though does not happen often.
it does a lot of time to get a stable OC especially when you shoot for the max OC
fell free to pm me

Wow that is a heavy duty OC goal
take a look at this
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/273127-29-phenom-overclocking
I had some 900 series Phemom IIs and I couldnt get higher that 4.2 with air or closed loop cooling
it would take extreme cooling methods to hit hat target and I doubt you could get it stable
i will show this link that drasitcally helped me out
http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/596023-Dolk-s-Guide-to-the-Phenom-II
read that over and over again especially the first few pages
that is the best guide to OCing a Phenom II I have found.
