jeez what do you think that Mal is going to spend 1000s of dollars to fly all away across half the world just
to molest you?

and your little (Number '0' is a liar) is not cute and I do not care for it TBH.
I know that you envy me and like to mess but I think it's not cool.
FYI.
you got it , i set that specially for you :sol:
finally you noticed it :D

0 is a liar, because :pt1cable:
real value of '0' is 'anything tends to nothing'

but it messes up with calculations :pt1cable:
there are three cases

1. 0/0=1 (as anything divided by itself equals 1)

taking a=0

2. then a/0=infinite (but can't divide by 0)

3. then 0/a=0 (tends to nothing)

thus number '0' is a liar :fou:
invented in India

i know that you noticed, but remained quite :D

since my pocket money (scholarship money to be accurate :p ) is almost finished so tried some other ways to have fun, it was only for numerical fun, is that was rude :(
OK, i apologize for that, from now i will try to not to mess :)

what about this new one, it will remind me of my world

Hello Guys,

Good Day! Hope all is well.

Just need help how to OC my system. This is the first time so i have no idea how to start it. Can someone guide me what to do first? The very first step, sorry i'm not as techie as you guys but i'm very eager to learn these stuff.

Mobo: Asus M5A88V-evo
CPU: Athlon II X3 455 @ 3.3GHz
VC: ATI Radeon 4650 [512MB]
RAM: Kingston Hyper X 8GB (2x4GB)
PSU: CM Extreme Power Plus 500W
Cooler: CM hyper 212 evo
OS: Windows 7: Ultimate

first thing you do is read this

http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?s=785fd92390b7ee8317ac51b8a9c1e2f7&t=596023

even though it is for Phenom II owners most of it will apply

you must be willing to do alot of reading
the first rule of overclocking is read/study before you do it

also go into your BIOS (usually by pressing DELETE on startup/boot)
get familiiar with all of your settings
DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING YET
just see what is there

thank you so much sir for the quick response. appreciate it. i know it's risky to do this but i'm willing to learn under your tutelage. i don't have a black edition CPU so from what i read, i should be adjusting the FSB instead of the multiplier. right?

yes you over clock by raising the FSB (actually FSB isnt the exact term but close enough-reference clock or HT would be righ when it comes to AMD CPUs-FSB is more of an Intel thing)
I was able to get a Phenom II x 4 925 stock 2.8 up to 3.5 stable so it is possible to OC without using the multiplier

I dont want to use this thread to help you
this is really for posting OC results

...? yeah its a unit of measurement used to indicate the temperature of something. in this case the cpu.

ok thats the jerk response. are you saying its to high?

yeah, its in the heat of the summer day, so i guess its good. as long as i stay under the 62c im good.

...and i am working a a new cooling project!

So I finally got a better case and HSF. (Corsair 400R and Hyper 212+)

My intention was to bump the voltage and speed on my 1045t. The chip was so well behaved up to 3.4 that I thought heat was my primary barrier.

Well the poor thing took two voltage bumps and a memory down-clock to stabilize at only 3.5 @1.424v. And then temps were getting up to 56-57C after a couple hours of prime95.

3.6 would "pretend" to be stable and then BSOD/lockup after extended stress tests.

I am now back down to 3.4Ghz @ 1.344v and enjoying only lower temps (52C max now) from the whole experiment.

I just felt like 1.424v and 56C was too much stress when I can run 100Mhz slower with much less voltage and heat.

3.5 at 1.424v? That seems like a lot of voltage to me for 3.5, also just wondering what cooling are you using stock or aftermarket?

I agree that 1.424 is a lot for that clock speed, but lower voltages would BSOD/freeze. That's why I backed off to 3.4Ghz@1.344.

I'm running a Hyper 212+ and 8 120mm case fans. Room temp is ~78F.

What code of bsod are u getting?

I forget now, but it was like a box of chocolates. Each one seemed to have a different set. (there was never just one at a time) I looked up the first few and they were related to memory.

Down-clocking the RAM stabilized 3.5 but only with the extra vcore. (1.424)

When 3.6 BSOD'd after teasing me for about half an hour of prime 95, the RAM was still down-clocked (RAM voltage was @1.65 -within specs of the RAM) and I didn't bother chasing down the codes at that point.

I should also mention that I tried small voltage adjustments on the NB, HT, CPU-NB, RAM, etc. I also tried different NB speeds, different HT speeds, etc.

Tested all 16G's of ram with memtest overnight. (multiple passes)

CPU 3.4@ 1.344v and RAM ~1343 @1.5 volts is happy with both memtest and prime95 overnight. (Two different nights)

Is your ram like 2 x 8gb or 4 x 4gb sticks?
