Hi all,

I'm currently running the auto-test feature in the AMD overdrive in Catalyst control center. I'm just wonder how long on average does it take to complete? I've been here for about 30 minutes just waiting for the test to finish so I can shut my PC down.

Is it safe to power down the PC with it still running? It doesn't give me any options to end the test, it just tell me to wait for the test to complete.

I was just messing about in the CCC and found this option. I don't want to overlock anything and as soon as the test finishes I will be restoring the original settings.

Thank you for the quick reply. Will it restore my clock speeds and such back to their original? It's just stuck on testing and not doing anything. It says my fan speed is at 50% activity 0% GPU clock going from 157mhz to 725mhz, CPU 300mhz to 1000mhz and the temperature is around 44c

It should be few minutes, for example on my 8350, it starts with testing 4100 MHz.. 4200 and so on .. it stops at 4500 because it`s unstable and reverts to 4400 MHz and prompts you for a reboot, after that you can set it to 4400 in catalyst and that`s it.

Is it bugging out or something? It just changes between those two values. During the beginning the display changed to like a red yellow brown-ish screen and the fans went crazy, I thought my computer was about to take off.

here is a pic

I`m a bit confused myself, are your trying to OC your GPU or CPU with Catalyst? For CPU i guess it`s ok to do it in auto with catalyst for a mild OC, but if your`re looking in OC`ing your GPU try using MSI afterburner, everybody recommends it.

It says adjust fan and clock speeds for your graphics card. I just clicked test custom clock by accident now it's running a test and after 30 + minutes it's still testing. I'm an overclocking newbie. Do you think it is safe to end the process in task manager? I don't want to leave it for too long just in case it damages anything.
