AMMD vs Intel?

Is the amd fx 8350 equal to the i5 6500 skylake processor?
Im sorry i dont know a lot about cpus but when i look at the differents specs i see a amd cpu with 8 cores and 3.5ghz and a intel with 4 cores and 3.2 ghz,

I know im probably missing something but for me it seems like the fx8350 is cheaper and better, am i very wrong?

the amd cpu was a good cpu 3 years ago when it first came out. it gave value to people building rigs vs intel sandy and ivy bridge cpu. the issue is that fx line and the 990 chipset the last chipset is over 3 years old. intel 170 and the newer 200 line that dropping soon have newer features like m2 slots and sata 6g and pci 3.0 and soon pci 4.0 video slot. intel core teh on there cpu is newer and lower power then the amd cpu. amd does have the zen cpu that will be out some time. till the zen drops and there reviews if your going to game and want a system that can be upgarded and last go for intel cpu.

Hi,

I would wait few months until AMD release their new CPU's which will have support for DDR4 and I believe it will still be cheaper than Intel.

What are you going to use the PC for? There are a handful of things which the 8350 is equal for or even slightly better but for most things it gets beaten by an i3 6100 in the benchmarks, this includes gaming.
