What has happened to Red State football-which they treat as a
religion-in the 21st century? USC trashes the Red State College
Champion-Oklahoma, and the Super Bowl is between two Blue State teams.

I won't even mention Illinois' domination of basketball, or the Red Sox
beating the Red State Cardinals.

Is it the the Red State high fat diets? The lack of intellectual
dialogue? The deflated economies chasing off the best coaches? Do the
best atheletes wish to live in Blue States?

In fact, the teams in the AFC and NFC Championships were 75% from Blue
States.

I hope the Red States can figure it out, before several of them turn
blue in self-defense.

More maroon, actually. Split Senators; 3-4 House; state senate and
house both Blue; a lame duck red Gov. I'm hoping that when we turn
fully Blue that CU, CSU, The Broncos, The Nuggets and the Rockies will
be champions. They are generally getting better these days.

Too bad about Texas sports in the last few years-too red I guess.

So Bob -- don't *you* live in a Red State?

IOW, red.

I assume you'll be relocating immediately?

Cruelly, it seems my Cowboys generally only win when there are Democrat
presidents (4 of their 5 Super Bowl victories and 7 of their 8 Super Bowl
appearances).

Given the current Democratic Party's tendency toward self-immolation, it may
be a *very* long time before the Cowboys win again. <sigh>

That said, I think most of us red-staters (except you of course) will trade
the Super Bowl, etc., for the Presidency, Congress and Supreme Court...

I think there's a lot of people on both sides of that equation that
would be willing to trade for what the other side has got.

Maybe so. Ask me again after another 10 year Super Bowl drought for the
Cowboys -- I might change my tune 🙂

Well, one of the few things I'd agree with Bob on is the status of football
as a religion in Texas.

I did send you an email; if you didn't get it, please reply to this post and
I'll try again.
