I don't understand how this happened.
I have a micro SD card where I keep a library of songs and TV shows to watch.
My TV shows have been on it for months with no editing, moving or disturbance of any kind.
Yesterday I wanted to sync some new music to my SD card, but my usual method (isyncr) is far too slow. So I tried some alternatives on windows but it was a bust. In order to do so I deleted my entire music library off my SD card as the new app to sync them would sync them differently so I thought I'll start fresh. In the end I ended up having to use Isyncr to resync my entire music library back onto my card. But during this process I did not touch my videos at all.
When I resynced my library first thing I noticed in my music player (jetaudio) is an artist called 'unkown artists' which seems to think 2 seasons of 2 different shows are songs and need to be displayed. This never happened before yesterday. It's annoying and I don't want them displaying there, as now I can't compare my song count on my laptop vs my phone as they're not consistent. Also they don't belong there anyway.
At first I thought it's an issue with the music player itself but it's not. This behaviour replicates on the stock music player and I downloaded another 3rd party one for good measure.
When viewing those videos in file manager they do not have a preview thumbnail where as the others do. If I long press those videos it gives me several music players to open them with where as the others don't. If I click on audio files in file manager where it smart manages them, those videos now show up as songs but they never did before. All my other videos show up in the gallery app and I usually hide those albums, but the videos in question no longer show there.
I've tried deleting them and readding them from 2 different hard drives. I've tried inserting a different SD card into my phone and formatting it. You can set default apps for audio in settings but not for video.
Nothing works, I don't understand this weird problem.
The new syncing program I attempted to use but found worthless was wondershare tunesgo. In order to use it I had to enable USB debugging in developer options and after I typed out all of the above I realised that is the most likely culprit to have caused this odd behaviour.
I have an Honor 9 Lite using the latest android version 9.1.0.127
How do I reverse this behavior and make my phone behave like it did in the before time, in the long, long ago?
