i am getting a psu i can get for around the same price a Antec PP352X ATX 350W or a ENERMAX EG365P-VE(FM). 350W which would be the quiestest and longest lasting?

Then go with enermax, they are very quiet. Antec is good too.

😱 :frown: 😡 😱 😎   - What do you want to feel today? :)

They are both good, but if you can get an Enermax whisper, that would be very quiet.

I have two Enermax's and like them both. The Whisper Quiet one (EG465P-VE 470W) I got last, has a dial on the back to adjust the air flow. Quiet for regular work, high for OC and gaming. Nice power supplies.

I have had several Antec power supplies that, compared to OEM power supplies, were OVERATED by about 50 watts. While they actually powered the components at similarly high load of the other supplies, they did so with severe voltage drops on the order of 15% fluctations on the most important 3.3v line, causing system instability.

Remember that this only happened near the limit, but was still very unsettling.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

id say enermax...they are hideiously quiet...even the non-whisper quiet versions

Everyone says Enermax, but I'm going to say Antec. I bought an Enermax 431W Whisper that wouldn't boot my system. I think it's because there wasn't enough output for the 5V and 3.3V lines combined. I bought one of the new Antec TruePower 480W PSUs and it works fine.

what kind of system was that on?
I have an Athlon XP 1900+ on a Shuttle AK-31A motherboard. If you go to the Shuttle website, they have a list of PSUs that are not recommended to be used with their motherboards, and Enermax is one of them. I found it interesting that my system would boot with a cheapo 300W but not with an Enermax 431W.

I have both a Enermax EG651P-VE and an Antec True 430 they are both just as quiet but the Antec is providing better voltages on my +5V and +3.3V rails than the Enermax on my EPoX 8K3A+(4.98V/3.29V Vs 4.78V/3.23V).
The Enermax has a much higher wattage rating than the Antec so go figure...
Steve.

Beam me up Scotty.

I just got an Antec True430, and let me tell you its pretty sweet. It has two variable speed fans and a connector that plugs in to a motherboard header so you can monitor its speed, plus it has connectors for variable speed case fans so that it can control their speed as well depending on tempurature.

Never had an Enermax so I have no reference.
