Antec P182 vs short cables on PSU

Doing a new build with the Antec P182 case. PSU is housed in the bottom of the case and after re-routing the 24 pin mobo and the 4+4 EPS connector cables several times I can barely make the 24 pin connector reach its plug... but only by pinching it between the mobo and the 9800GTX video card. The 4+4 EPS connector is about half an inch short, even pinched between mobo and video card. 4+4 plugs are at the very top left corner of the mobo.

Antec P182
EVGA 780i
EVGA 9800GTX
BFG 650 watt PSU

Anyone know of a decent power supply that offers longer than standard cables, or any type of cable extensions that might help.

Thanks!

The Corsiar 650HX has long cables. long enough to route behind the tray.

Headed over to Frys after dindin and lo and behold a Corsair 750TX PSU found it's way back to my house!

The 24 pin mobo, 8 pin EPS, and all 4 PCI-e cables, for the record, are 24" inches long. All the other cables, SATA and 4 pin (molex) cables were even longer. :kaola:

The aforementioned BFG's cables were only 16". :non:

Thanks all!

Does anyone know if the next one's are suitable for Antec 180/182 case?

- Antec TruePower Quattro 850W

- Antec Signature SG850W

- Be Quet! p7 pro 750W

- CoolerMaster RS-900-AAAA-A3 900W

They all have relative good effiency ratings, but this Antec case really needs to have long cables...

Allso I have tried to find good test about sli / cf PSU's but haven't found so far. Most tests seems to be guite old...

I'm interested as well if the cables on that Antec truepower quattro 850w are long enough for a p182 or antec 1200 case :)

FWIW, the Antec NeoHE 550 has cables that are *just* long enough to reach the mobo connector on an EVGA 680sli when fitted to the P180/182.

And by "just" I mean that to actually hook the ah heck up and run the cable round the back side of the chassis, I had to unscrew the PSU, *squeeeeeze* the mobo connector into its socket, before screwing the PSU back in place. This was actually quite a physical feat with the rig pre-populated with drives, etc. in what is a very solid steel chassis and I'm sure that the now very taut PSU cable is not healthy for it despite this chassis having neatly protected anti-chafe cutouts for the cables.

Pretty sure that the cable *just* reaching was more luck than design on behalf of Antec. Would also be interested to know if some of their bigger PSUs, e.g. TruePower Quattro do have longer cables than my "little" 550W...
