Hi. First post here, I really need help. I can't find anyone having the same problem as me on the internet which is rare and not a good sign.
I have a mouse issue. First, this mouse issue only occurs on old games. On Arcanum of Steamworks and Ultima Underworld for example, which have nothing to do software-wise as you have to emulate DOS-BOX to play Ultima Underworld while Arcanum of Steamworks is a game executable on Windows. The bug doesn't occur on Medieval TW2, Dungeon Defenders, Kerbal Space program, or any other more recent game.
The bug is the following: when I launch an old game, after being in the menu for five seconds, the mouse freezes. The keyboard still responds, the game is still running. I can play using keyboard only. To un-freeze the mouse, I have to either unplug it and plug it again or simply alt+tab twice meaning force the Windows 10 focus on the computer game. Upon un-freezing the mouse, it freezes again five seconds later, and so indefinitely. I don't believe the mouse is actually freezing, I just think it goes to the background.
I used to play games like these all the time without problems. It started out of the blue completely. No software nor hardware modification.
I can't play old games. And it is so bothersome and I have no idea to what it might be related. Maybe RAM, maybe power supply. I don't know.
A hint to help crack the case. Yesterday it devolved into an even bigger bug on my Google chrome tabs. Basically, clicking a chrome tab would unfocus it, forcing me to browse internet via keyboard only. So I don't really believe it can come from the mouse, nor a game in particular. I think it is hardware-related somehow.
Any help deeply appreciated. Feel free to ask questions.
