Any places to download modules, other than the NWN vault?

My preference was to download NWN modules from work (bad employee, no
cookie for me). Slow dialup at home (download speeds max around 3K
second at home, vs 30K + at work.) I do have a friend with cable, but
it's pain transporting large files (some of the hak packs are pretty
big), plus it's quite a drive (haven't visited there in a coupla
months).

Now, the NWN vault has been blocked by SurfPatrol at work (though I can
randomly get to the Generika cartoon page about 1 time out of 20).

Are there any alternative locations where I can grab modules?
Thanks!

Hi aloc,
You could try the mod database @ http://mods.moddb.com
At the bottom of the main page is a search criteria field with a drop
down list for the games they cover. I'm not too sure how many they have
atm mo, but ModDB is an excellent resource for many games and game types.

it currently list 3 mods 1 beta 80% complete, 1 unreleased 90% complete, 1
complete released mod. but currently they allow no downloads so the site is
more of less a current waste of time until we can download them

I noticed it also listed the homepage of one of the mods where downloads
were available.

You might have a friend with good bandwidth download the mods you want and
send them to you as email attachments. To get them by SurfControl the zip
extension may need to be renamed to doc or xls so the filters don't kick
them out. Then you can change the extension back to zip after you've saved
the attachment.

Don't know it will work.

NWN Stratics:

http://nwn.stratics.com/

has some. But, NWVault is the premier module content Web site. If you
like, email me and we can discuss me sending you a CD or DVD full of
modules + Haks. I can't do it for free, but we might be able to arrange
a fair deal.

Thanks for the offers and tips, all.

SurfControl is blocking the stratics.com site, though.

I was hoping for a place where I could brows the modules before
downloading. What modules I download and play depend largely on my
mood and what strikes me as I browse. I also don't want to miss out on
new installments of modules that I liked (for example, I downloaded
Ancient Heart 2 a bit before SurfControl was installed)

Barry, interestingly enough, I could go to Pyric.com and follow links
to the page at NWVault where I could download the Santa adventure. It
seems to be just the main modules search/listings pages that
Surfcontrol is blocking. So I can't search or browse through the
vault, but it looks like I can still download individual modules.

So, I may have to search/look for modules whilst at home (arrgghh...
dialup at home) and send a link to a specific module download page 🙂

Thanks again!

Thanks - when I clicked on "I agree to these terms", SurfControl
blocked whatever came next 🙂

I'll have to download at a friend's and transport them home (burn a CD,
DVD, or drop to an external drive or laptop)
