Hello, I’ve bought an AMD/MSI Radeon R9 270X but my PSU is too weak for it, it has 570 Watt peak. I have no problems with it, but when I start a heavy game (Just Cause 3/4, Dirt 3, etc) I hear my PSU buzzing and my mobo and GPU become very hot, and then my shutdown and I get a message like : “ASUS Anti-Surge was activated to protect your system.” I did some research and I found out it was my PSU that is too weak too handle, so I’m looking for a new PSU, do you have any recommendations?

My specs are:
ASUS M5A78L-M LX3 Plus
8GB DDR3 @ 1333 MHz
MSI Radeon R9 270X
AMD FX-6300
2x SATA SSD’s
1x SATA HDD
1x 120mm blue LED case fan with molex connector
Trust 570W PSU

I used a wattage calculator and it said that I need a 453 Watt PSU under heavy load, what does this mean?

I could use any help, my PSU knowledge isn’t great.

Since the calculator said you need over 450 watts, I would look for a 500-watt PSU minimum. What is your budget?

SeaSonic - EVO Edition 620 W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Here is a decent 620 watt fully modular 80+ Bronze PSU for 39.99 after discounts and a rebate. The 500-watt comparable units weren't much cheaper.

Well right now I have €20 but I’m saving ‘till €40, will that be enough? I have no haste or something so a bit over €40 doesn’t matter. The seasonic you have advised will cost €97 to ship to the Netherlands, still thanks for your help.

k thx, I also noticed that it's the GPU which is making all the noise, Twin Frozr but 1 blade missing on each side, so now I need new fans or a new VGA cooler. Recommendations?
