Jebus, I'd be SERIOUSLY wielding the morning stars and flails right about now. Maybe even thinking about a media campaign against them on Reddit or someplace. Have you tried embarrasing them on their sub Reddit, if they have one? Do you have a way to contact that manager again and tell him "look dude, this shibbit still ain't resolved".

The email I got back from the manager kind of said it may show up like this, but that they were shipping a board. I didn't get any sort of shipping note or tracking number yet but I'm thinking maybe it will just show up in a day or two. So before I lose my mind I want to wait for a reasonable time.

Speak of the devil got this email just now:

Your RMA# [Redacted] has been shipped via FedEx Tracking# [Redacted]. Please check their website for estimated delivery date.

Address: [Redacted]

City: [Redacted]

State: NY

Zip Code: [Redacted]

Country: USA

Please make note of your case number for future reference: [Redacted]

According to their RMA website it shows the Serial number of the board they originally sent me and now a new serial number as well, which I assume means this is the next replacement board.

Est delivery date is Saturday.

I'm so soured on this I am not sure how long this system is going to last. If its reliable then I may get lazy and not bother for a couple years. But at first sign of trouble I may just tear it apart and eBay the ASUS stuff and rebuild with Zen 2 and a Gigabyte Aorus or something.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
This is really a sad state of affairs because I contacted Asus about an RMA back in December because I had a faulty RAM stick and was worried that it might be a RAM slot issue.
My warranty states that they will send me a replacement board in advance if my ROG Strix B450-F fails and they were very punctual and offered to send me a replacement immediately, after testing my RAM I figured out that one stick had the SPD info corrupted by Asus Aura so I RMA'd the RAM.
I was actually impressed with how quickly Asus responded in my case.
So to see them drag their feet with you is Not a good sign if my board fails in the future and they don't have any replacements readily available.

I really hope it's cracked on the other side. I'm charged to see his head explode and then we can go turn the ASUS warranty center into a kill zone. Well, he can. I'll just wait to hear about it later. It'll be fun. LOL.

Ok, not really, but it was an interesting visual.

I noticed that they offer that but when I set up the RMA it didn't give me that option, I think its because I don't have a current model board. You'd think their flagship Ryzen board they would do that, but if its only for current models it makes sense.

Ha ha. I'm bringing you with me.

Well its here, and I'm typing this reply on it. It is definitely a refurb but came in acceptable condition. There was a bit of TIM on the CPU socket. Slow mode switch was on, I wonder if the Prior owner RMAed it for that lol. Its a newer revision of the board than I had, but I don't really notice any differences.

This thing hasn't been connected to the internet for over a month so I'm going to spend some of tonight and tomorrow just updating drivers etc then I'll do some benchmarks to make sure this thing still performs as expected. So far so good.

Used? Damn man, that would not make me happy. I'd use it, but get back in touch with that manager and tell him look man, when I buy a flagship motherboard that fails, I expect a new condition replacement. Not something that has been used and has TIM all over the CPU socket. This is very poor service after the sale IMO. Then again, I'm a bit confrontational with these people because I've just had them hand me vinegar instead of wine too many times, and I don't just mean ASUS. Sorry man. I was hoping they'd make it right, right.

Eh its right enough, I knew I would be getting a refurb as this board has been out of production for over a year, and it was a tiny bit of TIM. The fact the slow mode switch was on tells me this board was probably never even used more than a little bit by someone who is a moron. The cosmetics were otherwise perfect and the plastic protection sticker was still on the NB cover. Its a newer revision than mine was, they probably have made some tiny improvements in performance and whatnot which is a plus.

I ran some tests last night and everything seems to be operating correctly, it seems to boot a bit faster than before, and I was able to get 200more points in Time Spy but that may just be the new AMD drivers. I left it running overnight to download Windows updates and whatever else and it didn't crash. I ran some of my heat/power torture tests (Prime95 and Heaven at the same time) last night as well and no crashes. My Windows did deactivate however, this being the 3rd board this license would be used on. And the activation troubleshooter wouldn't activate it kept giving me an error. So I whipped out my Windows 7 key, entered it, bam activated, done. Will do some more testing tonight to be sure, but I think I'm probably fine.

As for ASUS emailing them is pissing into the wind. I got no response at all on social media, CEO email, etc, nothing, so clearly they don't care. Its a drop in the bucket for them, but my next build, whenever that may be, will not be an ASUS product.
