Anyone use Spin Rite?

I bought it and have sporadically been using it. I guess its working since I've had no data erros that I know of. However, the deep scan on a 300GB drive took my old rig 14 hours to complete. The fast scan completes in about 30 minutes.

Maybe it does nothing and my drive works great and I just flushed $89 down the toilet...I dunno.

Any thoughts?

It's great for when your hard drive is failing... but if your drive is perfectly healthy, then there isn't much reason to use it.
