Wassup everyone!

Im in the mood to buy a new, yet very affordable, 5.1 sound card. I don't want ANY sound card made by Creative Labs. I know the Philips and Santa Cruz are good sound card, but its a little too much for me. Im want one that costs around $45. Oh yeah, it also has to be compatable with Win 2k and good for DVD movies--I don't play games much, so you don't have to worry about that.

I think there are inexpensive Yamaha, ESS, and Crystal cards with 5.1, but I'm not sure. Check Comp USA for research and then find what you want cheaper on the net. I just checked Pricewatch with "5.1 and digital", and came up with a few alternatives.

I have a Philips Acoustic Edge and am very pleased with it. I just did a search for it on Pricewatch and it can be found for $69, but if that's still too much then I think Crashman has the right idea.
