I was thinking the same thing. I talk with and see posts about people with Apple stuff and after all that money they throw down, they seem to "LOVE" their new thingy. It's like they need to be reassured they made a good purchase

[citation][nom]molo9000[/nom]There is more to a laptop than performance figures.MacBooks are expensive but they are simply the sexiest laptops out there. From large things like the CNC milled aluminium chassis to the small things like the magnetic power connector or the white power/standby LED that's virtually invisible when it's off... the attention to detail is just awesome. My 15months old MacBook Pro looks and feels like it just came out of the factory. My old Dell Inspiron was completely shot after 15months. Paint was worn off from where your hands are while typing, the keyboard felt used, the display hinge was loose, the battery capacity was halved and in the end the graphics card fried. (common problem on that particular model)Apple sells good laptops for high prices.Dell sells junk for a fair price.[/citation]

Well, what you see as the sexiest, it may seem to others like rubbish. It's just your opinion. In my opinion, Dell laptops are much better looking, like for example Alienware. Also, Alienware comes with much better hardware, and better build quality for the same price.

[citation][nom]daikatana_[/nom]...and better build quality for the same price.[/citation]

Uh, no. The Alienware machines are indeed nice, but you don't get better build quality than a MacBook Pro for the same price with Alienware. Maybe faster components, yes. Better build quality, no.

@molo9000

come on now, who the hell are you kidding, it's like your comparing a Toyota to a Kia, they not even in the same league, at least put some effort in and drag a decent setup into the equation, for a MacBook Pro i say something like a Sony VAIO Z series (strangely enough price comes in close to your MacBook too, strange that huh)

and for the record the thing is a pressure cast aluminum body with a small amount of NC, there is no way in hell your going NC every damn body chassis from a single billet, it's wasteful and time consuming especially seeing the curves on that thing will require a 7 axis machine

and just out of interest, did you treat your dirt cheap Dell with the same level of care as your more expensive MacBook Pro?

Well the results or the customer satisfaction survey posted here is easily explained...
From reading the posts of other people here you can see that Apple customers like their product because a) they paid alot b) it looks nice c) they dont know what a real PC can do. I currently own a Macbook Pro with a core 2 duo that I won somewere and I can tell u its a frustrating machine. It just looks good but that's all. The OS has very limited capabilities and Windows are very slow on this machine.
Acer sells really nice looking laptops but with the cheapest hardware in the market (i've owned an Aspire 8920G 19" laptop for a year before it passed out from hardware weaknesses (low durability GPU and RAM).

Compare ANY $2000 laptop to a $2000 Macbook and see for yourself which one is the best. Just dont compare a Macbook to a $300 junk and make conclusions

Mac users just haven't figured out how to fuck up their machine as well as the average PC user has. They'll get there eventually. And if you think about it, the amount of malware out there today on 99% of PC users's computers and they still come up with a 77% satisfaction rate is impressive. Too many people blame Windows for their infections and get all pissy that their computer is a "lemon" because of it.

Mac: But i was told it will 2 inches! Minimum! So it is worth all i paid for it.
PC (in the voice of Jack nicholson): Where i come from, we don't add inches.

All the fanboy arguing from both parties aside - the 2300% stock increase FACT is hard to argue with. Buy Apple or don't - it's too bad all companies aren't doing that well.

[citation][nom]billybobser[/nom]maybe they can post results of self builders and their satisfaction with their machine.Dell , Hp etc sell junk. Branded fancy CPU surrounded by dire components, cheap slow ram, cheap slow hard disks, 'Gamer' graphics meaning an ATI 6470.It's no wonder people are not satisfied. With regard to apple, they are probably delighted that the sandbox world they exist in, work's like it should.[/citation]

if people have more common sense then they should understand there is no way you can get a "decent gaming computer" for 500 bux.

My last gaming computer cost me over 3 grand. My standard is high so YMMV.

[citation][nom]chick0n[/nom]Of course Apple owners are happy cuz even if the shit breaks, it's NEVER Apple's fault. it's Foxconn's fault. right ?[/citation]

They don't understand what is computer about. They think, computer equals apple.

That or it's whoever wrote the 3rd party program that crashed, or they will even blame themselves long before Apple.

I was looking at a mac forum one time and this guy pulls the USB memory stick out of his Mac while it's turned off. When he boots up after, he gets a kernel panic screen. When he figured out what was causing it, he says "Oh, I wasn't supposed to do that." and still claims to have NEVER had any issues with his Mac. If he were using windows he'd be cursing Microsoft and crappy PC's up and down.

Do you remember what was the address? I have to take a look, it must be a lot of fun in there :)

This is not surprising. How many people do you know who buy an apple because they cannot afford anything else? There are a huge amount of people who buy PCs because they need (or at least are told that they need) a computer, but cannot afford anything with some horse power behind it. Macs are expensive, people who buy macs buy them because they want one and do not care about the price. Thus yes, they have a higher satisfaction. Frankly I am a little surprised the rating is not higher. Besides, they seem to have fixed their QC issues from when they first switched over to intel procs. Those problems pissed off all sorts of people lol.

Would be interesting to see a satisfaction rating comparing products with similar prices. I bet a lot of these companies would score better.

I give you credit, is not an objective position but its always fun, right?

Sure, if you can't object the facts discredit the sources. Those numbers indicate Apple knows their target market and does well on support. As for the users, there are a lot of video producers, researchers or scientist also. But again you could always say those are dumb professionals or scientists. :)

If they weren't dumb, they would use PC with windows, which is quite faster.

No contradiction here.

It's a part of psychology, if you pay a lot for something whether or not it meets your standards, you are going to say you like it due to the effort (money) you put into. Otherwise you gotta think, shit well that was worthless...
